Daytimers is one of London's leading South Asian arts organisations, born from a rich history of UK counterculture. They partnered with Morgan Stanley, Somerset House and The Courtauld to stage this takeover, with 'some of the most exciting South Asian poets operating in the scene right now'.
I headlined this event with a performance of poetry in English, Italian and Urdu. Most of the set was my own work, archiving and celebrating queer South Asian experiences of joy and romantic connection in London. I also read short pieces by Faiz, Mir and Ungaretti in their original languages, accompanied by my lyrical translations into English.
